The Apple Vision Pro’s high price and limited production capacity may have pushed Apple to develop a more affordable model. According to the latest information from sources close to Apple, lower quality displays may be used in this new Vision Pro model to reduce the cost and selling price.
Apple Vision Pro retails for $3500
The cost of the high-resolution micro-OLED panels used in Apple Vision Pro is quite high. In the past months, the Apple front released a statement on the subject, explaining that the entire device cost a total of 1500 dollars.
In this sense, in the new period, Apple may end its agreement with Sony, the display supplier it works with for Apple Vision Pro, and prefer to work with different manufacturers such as Samsung or LG.
Samsung can produce OLED panels with color filters similar to those used in the Apple Vision Pro. However, the fact that Apple is working with Samsung on the next-generation iPhone 16 series could also signal a change of supplier for the Apple Vision Pro.
In addition to the displays, some changes are thought to be made in the design and features of the more affordable model. Accordingly, some sensors may be abandoned by using lighter and cheaper materials. It is not yet known when the more affordable Apple Vision Pro will be released and what its price will be. On the other hand, it can be expected to be shortened in the name and launched under the name Apple Vision.
